WG purpose and aims
Stroke and dementia are closely linked via risk factors and genetics. However, stroke research has not usually included cognitive assessments and outcomes. We aim to raise awareness of the importance of cognition in stroke genetic projects. Our purpose is to unite stroke genetic researchers including cognitive assessments and interested in links between stroke, cognitive impairment and dementia.
What will the WG do?
Our purpose is to unite stroke genetic researchers including cognitive assessments and interested in links between stroke, cognitive impairment and dementia. There are current large programs examining cognitive outcomes after stroke. We plan to provide recommendations on harmonising cognitive assessments across languages and countries and collaborative bridges with established imaging and genetic consortia.
